Waypoint DSL Connection Guide
Use the following steps for creating a dialup connection to Waypoint:
  1. Upon receipt of your modem open the box and follow the wiring connection guide
  2. DO NOT USE THE CD's PROVIDED!
  3. After you have completed the connection of the modem and placed all your phone filters on the phones in your home (NO FILTER IS USED ON THE CONNECTION FOR THE MODEM TO THE WALLPLATE!) and plugged in the power cord for the modem you should notice that the Power light is a steady green, the DSL light is blinking, the ethernet light is blicking (if you have connected the ethernet cable to your computer and your computer is turned on) and finally that the Internet light is off.
  4. Next start your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari) and wait for the page cannot be displayed error to show up.
  5. When the page has stopped loading and you have received the error stated above, locate your address bar in the browser. Typically it is located at the top of the browser window and has the URL for your homepage list in it (i.e. http://www.waypoint.com). Note that if your dialup dialogue box has started please cancel the action and go to the following steps to disable your dialup. After you have disabled the dialup continue to step 6.
    1. Click the start button and find the control panel link and click it
    2. Next locate your Internet Options icon and double click it.
    3. In the Internet Properties window find the Connections tab and click it.
    4. In the middle of the Connections tab are 3 radio buttons. Please select the Never dial a connection button and then click apply and then click ok. You have now disabled your dialup.
  6. Now that you have disabled your dialup click on the URL in the address bar and then press your delete key on your keyboard.
  7. In the address bar type "192.168.0.1" (without the quotes) and either press the enter key on your keyboard or click the Go arrow next to the address bar.
  8. If your connected correctly from your computer to the modem you will get a screen similar to the one the following:
    1. M1000 If you get this screen click the Quick Setup tab and continue to step 9 otherwise continue to item b.


    2. MotorolaSet the new password and click next and you will get this screen:

      1. Motorola Insert the username admin and the password you created from the screen listed in b above and click ok.


      2. Motorola If you get to this screen continue to step 9 otherwise continue to item c


    3. 2Wire Click the Advanced Configuration Settings link on the right side of the screen and then proceed to step 9


  9. If applicable set the correct time zone then look for the "Username", "Password" boxes and if require the "Confirm Password" box. Input the username provided for you into the box. If you do not know the username and/or password then contact support at 360-385-6003 and we will give you that information.
  10. Locate the "Save" or "Apply" or "Apply Changes" buttons and click it.
  11. Watch your modem lights and when your DSL connection with Qwest has been completed the DSL light will go solid and the Internet light will go green.
  12. You have now completed the DSL connect and you can enjoy your high speed connection. Any further questions please feel free to contact support.
